Abstract

To the Editor:‎ The Human Heredity and Health in Africa Kidney Disease Research Network aims to investigate the ‎genetics of renal disease progression.1 Diabetes mellitus and hypertension have emerged as the ‎commonest cause of endstage renal disease in Sub-Saharan Africa.2 Additionally, obstructive uropathy ‎‎(observed in malaria), HIV infection, and toxic nephropathies also contribute considerably.
